Art Lecture & Creative Workshop in Celebration of French and American Independence - French American artist Louise Bourgeois
July 6, 2022 will be our first class and we will look at the art of the great French American artist Louise Bourgeois. Although not associated with any major art movement, Bourgeois’ work is very feminist and surrealist. She is most famous for her large installation work and we will look at these pieces but we will also look at her small works as well. Students will be invited to create two dimensional work based on a childhood memory. An option will be given to create a 3-D piece or a collage.
Classes will be held in person at our library's main branch, located at 500 Park Ave, in the lower level, and virtually. Visit our website for updates at HobokenLibrary.org
