Art Lecture & Creative Workshop in Celebration of French and American Independence - Featuring the art of Edgar Degas.

Art Lecture & Creative Workshop in Celebration of French and American Independence - Featuring the art of Edgar Degas.

For this class our artist of focus will be Edgar Degas. Degas was one of the founders of Impressionism but he preferred to be called a realist. He is most famous for his depiction of dancers and his skill at portraying movement in his figures is legendary. We will  use soft pastels in this class as this was a media favorite of Degas’. We will return to our practice of portraiture but specifically using pastels.

Classes will be held in person at our library's main branch, located at 500 Park Ave, in the lower level, and virtually. Visit our website for updates at HobokenLibrary.org
