Music on a Sunday Afternoon: Pianist Itay Goren

Pianist Itay Goren’s playing is described as “an evocative journey from shimmering excitement to calm contemplation” (Classical New Jersey). He has performed in Europe, Asia, the Pacific and the United States. In addition to highly acclaimed solo recitals in Madrid, Prague, Paris, and New York City, his festival appearances include the Festival de Cámera in Villaviciosa de Odon in Spain, the Pacific Summer Music Festival in Guam, Rencontres musicales de Jaugette and The American Music Festival in France and the Hindemithon Festival in New Jersey.

His program is called “Music Inspired by Nature.” Throughout history, nature has been a source of enchantment and inspiration for the great composers. This concert will feature music by Bach, Rameau, Daquin, Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, Lamothe, Sibelius, Macdowell, Debussy and Ravel, as well as a new work written especially for this program by contemporary composer Christodoulos Georgiades. Itay Goren plays Flight of the Bumblebee by Rimsky-Korsakov/Rachmaninoff.
