Elliot Pineiro and Sumbaswing
On Saturday, October 1 at 7 p.m., Sumbaswing will perform on the library plaza. Sumbaswing is a Latin jazz sextet led by saxophonist Elliot Pineiro. The band's repertoire includes arrangements of songs made famous by great names in Latin jazz, such as Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Poncho Sanchez, and many others. Pineiro's Sumbaswing has been active in the Latin Jazz scene for the past 15 years. Their music ranges from straight-ahead jazz, to funk, to hard hitting Latin jazz.
