Sumac Punchau

Sumac Punchau

The sounds of wind and percussion dominated the South American Andes region. Original chants and melodies come from the general area inhabited by the Quechuas. After the conquest by the Spanish empire, the music transcended into Spanish music elements with a rich sound that all enjoyed. Sumac Punchau from Northern New Jersey will not only perform but educate the audience about its rich past with demonstration of the instruments being played during the performance.

This performance will be held by the Book drop.
