SUMMARY:Black History Month Celebration of Artist Lynette Yiadom-Boakye with Liz's Art from Home
DESCRIPTION:We are shaking up Liz’ art classes! Liz will be live on Zoom 
 to answer all your questions!\n\nFor the month of February Liz Cohen Ndoye 
 will celebrate Black History Month as the main theme of her ART at HOME 
 zoom classes. She will focus on one African or African American artist for 
 each class. \n\nThe third artist that we will learn about is Lynette 
 Yiadom-Boakye. Yiadom-Boakye is an extraordinary figurative artist - she 
 paints portraits but not of real people but fictional characters that 
 spring from her imagination. According to the NY Times her figures are 
 “moods manifested.” There is a raw emotional power to her portraits 
 that make them visual magnates for the viewer. After learning about her 
 work\, students will begin to sharpen their skills and understanding in how 
 to draw the human portrait. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: SUPPLIES WILL BE 
 GIVEN OUT STARTING ON MONDAY FEBRUARY\, 4 at 12 pm - UNTIL THEY LAST. FIND 
 THEM ON THE LIBRARY’S GRAB AND GO SHELF AT THE MAIN BRANCH. 
 \n\nRegistration is required (see the button below). REGISTRATION BEGINS 
 ONE WEEK BEFORE EVENT AND REGISTRATION CLOSES 15 MINUTES BEFORE EVENT. 
 \n\nONLY PEOPLE WHO REGISTER HERE WILL RECEIVE THE ZOOM LINK AND PASSWORD 
 TO ENTER THE CLASS 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE EVENT BEGINS.\nTo protect the Zoom 
 call from outside interference\, please register below with your name and 
 email. Please register every week for each class. Fortunately\, the class 
 will be recorded so you will be able to enjoy it on the library’s YouTube
