DESCRIPTION: \n\n\n\nJoin Caren White\, The Herb Lady\, for an informative 
 talk on harvesting and preserving the herbs that you grow in your garden. 
 Timing and technique are the keys to maximizing the harvest from your herb 
 garden for future use.\n\n In the first half of the talk\, you will learn 
 the best time of the day and the best time of year to harvest each type of 
 herb.  Then you will learn the correct way to harvest leaves\, flowers\, 
 seeds and roots to maximize the yield from your plants.\n\nIn the second 
 half of the class\, you will learn multiple ways to freeze or dry your 
 herbs and which technique works best for which herb.  \n\nCaren will also 
 talk about how to make herbal oils\, vinegars\, salts\, sugars and butters 
 which can also be used to preserve herbs for future use.\n\nThis program is 
 free and open to all\; no registration is required.\n\nIt is made possible 
 with the support of The Friends of the Livingston Public 
 Library.\n\nParticipants will be expected to follow all current CDC 
 guidelines.
