Celebrating Contemporary Native American Artists - Art Lecture and Workshop with Liz Ndoye. Featured Artist - Jaune Quick-to-See Smith
For the first Wednesday in November, November 1, we will look at the art of Jaune Quick-To-
See Smith. She is one of the veteran artists on the scene and one of the best known in the
group I have chosen for us to study. She is an artist who brings to the forefront in her work her
political beliefs about the status of Native Americans now and in the past. She blends the
traditions of her tribal culture with the training she received in more European style art classes
to beautiful effect in her very lyrical images. Her major and magnificent solo show at The
Whitney Museum just recently closed. We will create in class our own paintings inspired by her style.
This program will be held in person and live on Zoom and YouTube!
