Art Lecture and Workshop with Liz Ndoye, Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Featured Artist is Oscar Yi-Hou

The third artist that we will spend time with in May will be Oscar yi - Hou. British Chinese, Hou
is a painter heavily involved with portraiture and gay identity. After spending most of his life in
Liverpool. Hou now lives in. New York and is creating works that explore the depths of the
importance of identity. His concerns are about LGBTQ identity as well as Asian ethnicity and
cultural identity. He is fascinated by cross-cultural blending and borrowings and represents
these interests in his very colorful and psychologically powerful paintings. Portraiture will again
be the focus of our own work. Students will be asked to bring in an image of themselves as a
child that they think may reveal who they thought they might become.

This program will be held in person and live on Zoom and YouTube!
