Art Lecture and Workshop with Liz Ndoye. Theme: HOPE AND NEW BEGINNINGS Featured Artist is Marc Chagall.

Art Lecture and Workshop with Liz Ndoye. Theme: HOPE AND NEW BEGINNINGS Featured Artist is Marc Chagall.

During class number three we will look at the always joyful and optimistic art of Marc Chagall.
Art critics said, ”Chagall synthesized the art forms of Cubism, Symbolism, and Fauvism, and
the influence of Fauvism gave rise to Surrealism”. Chagall was a modernist who burst onto the
Parisian art scene at a time of transition and change. He was not immediately accepted by the
established artists but found acceptance from Picasso and Matisse who realized he was a
master colorist. His work was in a folklorist tradition unfamiliar to the art scene. His fanciful
images will encourage students to create their own magical dream filled paintings.

This program will be held in person, live on Zoom and YouTube!
