Celebrating Black History Month - Art Lecture and Workshop with Liz Ndoye Featured Artist, Charles White

Celebrating Black History Month - Art Lecture and Workshop with Liz Ndoye Featured Artist, Charles White

For our second class, we will go back in time to look at the work of the great portrait artist
Charles White. Charles Wilbert White, Jr. was an American artist known for his chronicling
of African American related subjects in paintings, drawings, lithographs, and murals. He was an
extraordinary portrait artist whose images were not only unbelievably realistic but they have an
emotion and bathos like very few other artists’ work, We will work from life with one or two of
our professional artists in attendance. The basics of portrait drawing will be taught and
reviewed first and then students will practice their own skills through these life drawings.
This program will be held in person and live on Zoom and YouTube!
